Are you following a hiring framework or just replacing a leaver? Let’s rethink! 👇🏽

Are you following a hiring framework or just…

You’re not retaining your good employees because you’re not following this framework.

I’ve introduced this HR Habitat framework via an explainer video, and some wanted a free resource to help explain and apply this to their business.

The first step it to CRITIQUE.
Do you really need to hire? What are the team and cost implications? Do the skills you’re looking for already exist within the workforce? Perhaps you could utilise this and offer promotions to increase motivation and engagement and reduce cost at the same time.

Next, ATTRACT.
Instead of calling this part of the framework ‘advertise’, we have called it ‘attract’. This is the process of understanding the key attraction points of the role and the company as a whole. This is a useful exercise as it gets employers to really evaluate your positioning in today’s labour market. If you were a job seeker with all the jobs available on the market today, would you really shortlist your job as a potential?

Lastly, DEVELOP.
The key to retaining talent is to determine what this role will evolve into. If you do not know what training, development, and learning will look like as part of the role then you simply shouldn’t be attracting talent into the business. This is not to say that a role today will look completely different five years down the line. However, as a business you expect to grow and evolve so all positions in the company should grow and evolve to align with the company’s growth. So if there’s no plan for talent, then you are effectively allowing the employees to be the obstacle in the company’s growth.

BONUS: it is also imperative that managers receive line management + leadership training in order to be able to effectively manage their teams. It is impossible to conduct a performance review (or manage employees in general) if managers are unaware of how to promote and encourage performance etc. Being a good leader is not something that you were born with, this is a learned process and something that we can teach you. If you want to know where your gaps lie within the four core competences of leadership, then take this FREE two minute test for a comprehensive report of the findings at the end: https://lnkd.in/eguiG_pU

I want to know, how many managers or businesses actually follow a framework when hiring. Are you simply replacing a leaver? 👇🏽
