What are your thoughts?

Onboarding of new employees is not given much thought. There is more energy going into dealing with performance issues later down the line than there is with the onboarding of said employee. Isn’t that odd?

Onboarding is more than doing the paperwork for hiring to send across to payroll. We produced an informative infographic video on the elements to include in an onboarding process, so if you’d like a copy sent to you please message me.

Good onboarding programmes discuss KPIs, review processes, acceptable conduct etc - all of the reasons why this employee might one day be in the room with us discussing poor work performance/conduct! It’s essentially setting the grounds to allow for accountability if the employee behaves outside of these realms. It also allows the employee to properly engage with their new role and manage expectations. It’s no wonder the stats say that there is 62% increase in productivity in new recruits after experiencing good onboarding (in comparison to those who did not receive good onboarding)! As a business owner/manager, that’s all you want isn’t it.
